Come to Kearney, Nebraska and stay in the private Oldfather Guest House. Located near the banks of the Platte River, the Guest House is situated amid the corn fields the cranes feed in during their stay in Central Nebraska. This lovely home is completely furnished and sleeps up to 6 people.
Even though Kearney offers you an opportunity to do some spectacular birding, you'll enjoy the other area attractions. Be sure to investigate our recommendations.
This two bedroom, 1½ bath home is ready for you and your family to enjoy. The home is fully furnished, including linens and kitchen utensils for the full kitchen. The master (queen bed) bedroom is located on the main floor with a full bath on the same floor. Upstairs, you will find a 2nd bedroom (double bed) and ½ bath. Additionally, the sofa in the living room sleeps 2, making a total of 6 accommodations.
The kitchen includes a refrigerator, stove, oven, double sink, microwave and coffee pot, complete with coffee! Although rental does not include meals, you are welcome to use the kitchen to prepare what you like or eat out in one of Kearney's many fine restaurants.
By far the finest feature of the Oldfather Guest House is the location. But, you'll enjoy the living/family room almost as much! Here you will find satellite TV, a wood burning fireplace and comfortable furniture. Glass windows overlook the native habitat of several local and some transient species. You're sure to see White Tail Deer, rabbits, Ring Neck Pheasants, a variety of native birds, raccoons and opossums. If you look closely, you may see wild turkeys and turtles, fish and amphibians in the pond.
